Methodology and transparency
Who produces our analyses, how, what our calls mean and what they are really worth.
Northvane content is general financial information, produced automatically and dated. It is not personalised investment advice nor an invitation to buy or sell.
1. Who produces the analyses
The analyses, calls and summaries published by Northvane (app, widgets, messages, letters, API) are produced by Northvane, SAS (Simplified Joint-Stock Company) with a share capital of €20,000, SIRET 107 834 210 00018, registered office 247 Avenue Victor Hugo, 26000 Valence, France. Publisher: Matthieu Forel, General Director (Directeur Général).
2. How they are produced
- An automated pipeline, based on artificial-intelligence models and statistical rules, analyses every tracked stock at every trading session, before its market opens.
- Analyses are not reviewed one by one by a human analyst. Rules and models are reviewed every week against measured results.
- Every analysis carries its date, time and the reference price used. An analysis older than the current display is flagged as such.
3. What our calls mean
- Up or Buy: over the stated horizon, the analysed evidence leans towards a rise in the price.
- Neutral or Hold: no clear direction over the stated horizon.
- Down or Sell: the analysed evidence leans towards a fall in the price.
Horizons: the next session (daily), five sessions (weekly) and several weeks (medium term). Prices forecast for D+1 and D+7 are statistical estimates, not guaranteed price targets.
A call sums up what the evidence available at the time of the analysis suggests. It is never a certainty.
4. What they are worth: our measured results
Over the last 30 days, the stated direction was right in 49.1% of the 1061 measured cases.
For comparison: always betting on a fall would have scored 47.9% over the same period. Adjusted for that trend effect, our balanced accuracy is 49.2%.
That is why we do not sell signals: our analyses help you understand what moves the market, not beat it.
5. Distribution of our calls
From August 07, 2026 to November 05, 2026, out of 3461 published calls: 42% up, 50.9% down and 7.1% neutral.
6. Sources and assumptions
The analyses combine several families of data:
- prices, volumes and technical indicators from several market-data providers;
- company filings and financial data;
- news and social-media sentiment;
- macroeconomic indicators and calendar, geopolitical risk;
- prediction-market probabilities and public trade disclosures of US Congress members;
- scores and ratings from specialised providers.
The models assume this information is accurate at the time of the analysis; a wrong data point or an unexpected event can make an analysis wrong. We do not name our providers, and we do not pass their raw data on to business customers where their licence does not allow it.
7. Risks and limits
- An analysis can be outdated within minutes. Markets are risky: you can lose all or part of the capital invested.
- Analyses are general: they take into account neither your situation, nor your objectives, nor your risk tolerance.
- Past performance is no guide to future performance.
8. Conflicts of interest
- Northvane is not paid by the companies it analyses and publishes no sponsored analysis.
- Northvane runs trading bots that apply its own analyses, mostly in simulation; one account may trade with real money. These bots only use analyses already published in the app.
- Team members may personally hold stocks that are analysed. Since analyses are produced automatically, they do not intervene in the content of any given analysis.
9. Redistribution by our business customers
Companies that redistribute our content (websites, Discord or Slack channels, letters to their clients) accept our redistribution licence: they credit "Source: Northvane" with the date of the analysis and flag any change.
10. A question, an error to report
Write to us at contact@northvane.app. We publicly correct any confirmed error.
